Yoga Etiquette
Before your first visit, please review the following information, and if you have any questions, please give us a call at 216-702-YOGA(9642)
In The Know: Do you have injuries, illnesses or physical limitations that will affect your yoga experience? If so, YOU MUST TELL YOUR INSTRUCTOR BEFORE CLASS. Also, it is important to get your physician's approval before engaging in physical activity.
Signing In: We ask all new students to complete a New Student Enrollment Form (at registration desk) prior to taking class. Please be sure to register and pay at the computer sign-in desk before each class. To simplify sign-in, consider registering and pre-paying for class online prior to arriving at the studio—then, when you arrive, you need only to click one button to confirm attendance.
Walk-ins are Welcome: We respectfully ask that you please pay in advance.
Shoes and Belongings: Upon entering the studio, please remove your shoes and leave your personal belongings in the cubbies.
Yoga Mats: We encourage students to bring their own mats to our studio, however, we do offer complimentary mats to students who need one. If you do use one of our mats, we simply ask that you please wipe them down (with wipes provided) after use and put them back. For students who bring their own mats, consider putting your name in permanent black marker, in block letter on the front edge of your mat. This helps us to return lost mats to their rightful owner as well as assists teachers in learning names.
Cell Phone Use: For the benefit of all students, please turn off or mute your cell phone upon entering the studio.
Late Arrivals or Leaving Early: If you arrive late or must leave class early, please take a spot closest to the door to allow for minimal distraction. Please let your instructor know in advance that you are leaving early.
Peace and Tranquility Reign: Please speak quietly in the studio and respect those who wish to meditate before the led practice begins. If you are late, please enter the studio quietly so as not to disrupt other students.
Hands-On Instruction: Instructors may provide hands-on adjustments to help you find freedom and benefit in your poses. If you are at all uncomfortable with this, please advise your instructor before class.
Common-sense Eating Tips: As with any form of exercise, it is best not to eat a heavy meal two hours before class. A light snack (fruit or protein) is appropriate up to 30 minutes before class.
Studio Facilities: We have two bathrooms and two showers available for your convenience. Please bring your own towels and toiletries.
Personal Care: It is best not to use perfumes and lotions prior to class because lotions can make skin slippery, making it difficult to hold positions; lotions can also clog pores; and finally, some students and instructors may have allergies that could be aggravated by heavy perfumes or lotions. Also, please bring a small towel to class.
Email Updates List: If you would like to receive our email updates (schedule changes, new classes and special events), simply email us requesting email updates.
